painting on fabric

  1. stretch fabric over frame be sure to use a nice thick fabric-thin stuff will not get taut and you might tear up a bit at the results.
  2. use a clear acrylic  matte medium mixed with a just bit of water-coat the fabric like there's no tommorrow.. and let set, if you're painting lightly an artist spray vanish will do the job... avoid clear gesso! it will get milk and the fabrics will look dull and low rent.
  3. paint away! these were both 3hr figure studies in oil
